Math Course 1 is a course designed to ensure students master the California Common Core Standards for Mathematics in Grade 6. Instruction focuses on four critical areas: (1) connecting ratio and rate to whole number multiplication and division, and using concepts of ratio and rate to solve problems; (2) completing understanding of division of fractions and extending the notion of number to the system of rational numbers, which includes negative numbers; (3) writing, interpreting, and using expressions and equations; and (4) developing understanding of statistical thinking.
Math Course 1/2 is an accelerated course designed to provide students with an opportunity to master both the Grade 6 and Grade 7 California Common Core Standards for Mathematics in a single year. Instruction focuses on four critical areas: (1) developing understanding of and applying proportional relationships; (2) developing understanding of operations with rational numbers and working with expressions and linear equations; (3) solving problems involving scale drawings and informal geometric constructions, and working with two and three-dimensional shapes to solve problems involving area, surface area, and volume; and (4) drawing inferences about populations based on samples.
Math Course 3 is a course designed to ensure students master the California Common Core Standards for Mathematics in Grade 8. Students who successfully completed Math Course 1/2 in Grade 6 are eligible to enroll in Math Course 3 in Grade 7. Instruction focuses on three critical areas: (1) formulating and reasoning about expressions and equations, including modeling an association in bivariate data with a linear equation, and solving linear equations and systems of linear equations; (2) grasping the concept of a function and using functions to describe quantitative relationships; (3) analyzing two- and three-dimensional space and figures using distance, angle, similarity, and congruence, and understanding and applying the Pythagorean Theorem.
Integrated Math I is the first year of a 2-year accelerated curriculum designed to prepare students for Algebra II in 9th-Grade. Students enrolled in this course must have successfully completed Math Course 1/2 in Grade 6. Instruction focuses on these critical areas (1) Expressions (2) Equations in One Variable (3) Relations and Functions (4) Linear and Nonlinear Functions (5) Creating Linear Equations (6) Linear Inequalities (7) Exponential Functions (8) Statistics (9) Angles and Geometric Figures (10) Logical Arguments and Line Relationships (11) Transformations and Symmetry (12) Triangles and Congruence.
Students enrolled in this course must have successfully completed Integrated Math I in Grade 7. Instruction focuses on these critical areas (1) Relationships in Triangles (2) Quadrilaterals (3) Similarity (4) Right Triangles and Trigonometry (5) Circles (6) Measurement (7) Probability (8) Relations and Functions (9) Exponents and Roots (10) Polynomials (11) Quadratic Functions (12) Trigonometric Identities and Equations.
Algebra I is aligned with the California Common Core Standards for Mathematics in algebra. Instruction focuses on four critical areas: (1) deepening and extending understanding of linear and exponential relationships; (2) contrasting linear and exponential relationships with each other and engaging in methods for analyzing, solving, and using quadratic functions; (3) extending the laws of exponents to square and cube roots; and (4) applying linear models to data that exhibit a linear trend.
Geometry course is aligned with the California Common Core Standards for Mathematics in geometry. Instruction focuses on six critical areas: (1) establishing criteria for congruence of triangles based on rigid motions; (2) establishing criteria for similarity of triangles based on dilations and proportional reasoning; (3) informally developing explanations of circumference, area, and volume formulas; (4) applying the Pythagorean Theorem to the coordinate plane;(5) proving basic geometric theorems; and (6) extending work with probability.
This course goes into greater depth and application of concepts than Algebra II. Topics of study include equations, inequalities, functions, transformations of functions, system of complex numbers, polynomials, inverses, radical functions, rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, conic sections, and nonlinear systems, sequences and series, linear regression, statistics, data analysis, and probability (as time permits). Graphing and applications of these topics are included throughout the course.

We started Singapore Math School because we thought everyone should have access to this effective teaching approach. All of our programs preserve the techniques, sequencing, and rigor that define Singapore math. We continue to provide the original curriculum that put Singapore math on the map, while evolving the Singapore math approach through other series to better serve today’s students and educators.
We have been educating kids for more than a decade and many have found successful career path.
